Winehouse April Maker of the Month | The Wine Farm

This April, Farmer's Daughters Wine House is proud to feature The Wine Farm as our Winemaker of the Month.

Located in Koonwarra in South Gippsland, The Wine Farm is a small, vineyard-driven operation run by Anna and Neil Hawkins. Since purchasing the property in 2014, the pair have focused on farming their vines with biodynamic principles and minimal intervention, allowing the character of the soil, climate and vintage to shine through in the glass.

The vineyard sits on Gippsland’s distinctive red volcanic soils, producing vibrant cool-climate wines with freshness, minerality and clarity of fruit. With a philosophy centred on soil health and thoughtful farming, the Hawkins’ approach is simple: great wine begins in the vineyard..

April Wine House Flights

Throughout the month, guests can experience The Wine Farm through a curated Wine House Flight, showcasing three distinctive wines that capture the elegance and purity of South Gippsland.

Featured wines include:

2022 The Wine Farm Riesling – bright, mineral and refreshing, highlighting the crisp acidity typical of Gippsland’s cool climate.

2022 The Wine Farm Chardonnay – textured and expressive, balancing pristine fruit with subtle oak complexity.

Belrose Pinot Noir, Dunbalk South – crafted by Neil Hawkins from the Belrose vineyard in South Gippsland, a windswept site planted exclusively to Pinot Noir and known for producing elegant, expressive wines.

The Wine House Experience

Our Wine House Flights are designed to explore a producer’s story through a guided tasting.

Enjoy a flight of three wines for $50, or elevate the experience with three paired snacks for $30, thoughtfully matched by our kitchen to complement each wine.

It’s an opportunity to discover the craftsmanship behind one of Gippsland’s most exciting small producers, while exploring the region’s distinctive cool-climate style.
