With three levels to explore, our Farmer’s Daughters venue at the prestigious 80 Collins Street precinct takes visitors on a seasonal journey from Melbourne city to the rolling hills, mountains, rivers and beaches of the region.

Gippsland is undoubtedly the food bowl of Victoria, and home to artisan farmers, producers, growers and agrarian thought-leaders. Direct sourcing of produce from Gippsland farms for the Restaurant and Deli provides distinctive food provenance.

Our Restaurant received One Hat in the prestigious Good Food Guide Awards 2023 and is testament to our passion for delivering an exceptional farm-to-table experience for guests.

Farmer’s Daughters heroes and preserves the proud tradition of Gippsland’s farmers and producers and delivers their delicious produce direct to the heart of Melbourne.

The vision for Farmer’s Daughters has been led by Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia.

As the Food & Drink Ambassador for the region of Gippsland, Alejandro is of course in love with the region, its produce and its people. During his first visits to the lush farming regions of Gippsland, Alejandro felt a moment of epiphany. He was taken back to the highlands of his homeland Peru; the stunning landscapes, fertile land, the livestock, the smell of wet grass and the beautiful produce which inspired him to change the way he thought about food and how he went about cooking.

Enamoured by the beauty of Gippsland, its farming history, the fertility of its soils and what its able to produce, Alejandro set out to elevate the region across the state, and country, making it visible in our cuisine and food culture.

Over the years, the farmer’s daughters team have walked the hills, farms and coastline of Gippsland, spending time with the farmers, the growers, the catchers and the makers – absorbing all their passion has to offer.

We’ve explored the wild coast full of fresh seafood, the rolling hills with healthy livestock, lush green pastures, met the friendly locals, and sampled award winning wines, spirits and beers.

The culmination of which has resulted in partnerships with regional producers that will deliver signature food products made available in the heart of the Melbourne through Farmer’s Daughters.

Inspired by the strong female faces behind the farms and agricultural businesses of Gippsland and right across Victoria, who for centuries have played a major role in the development of farming in Australia and in who are leading the way - and ultimately inspiring the ‘Farmer’s Daughters’ name.
